When Mrs Kay's 'Progress Class' are unleashed for a day's coach trip to Alton Towers they can hardly believe their luck...until Mr Brigg's gets on board. With the destination changes to Wales, a battle of wits ensues between the exuberant pupils and the humourless Mr Briggs.

This updated and extensively revised version of Willy Russell's much loved play features additional songs while retaining the humour and poignancy of the original.

History

Our Day Out was originally written for television and transmitted as a BBC 'Play for Today' in 1977. It was later adapted for the stage and first performed at the Everyman Theatre, Liverpool, on 8th April 1983. Our Day Out - The Musical was first performed at the Royal Court Theatre, Liverpool, in September 2009, and subsequently returned to the Royal Court in 2010.
